I write historical novels about the scarlet-coated officers of late-18th-century Britain—those privileged, perilous gentlemen trapped between honor, ambition, and the first rumblings of revolution.
My road to this world was anything but straight. I studied fine art, spent far too many years in finance, and then finally surrendered to a fascination that had been tugging at me since childhood: the dusty archives and quiet libraries of England. There, among faded letters, court-martial records, and half-forgotten diaries, I found the voices I wanted to bring back to life.
A Moon Garden is the first fruit of that search—fiction based on real people and real events, written with as much truth as I can manage about courage, love, and the prices men and women paid when the world began to change faster than anyone expected.
When I’m not lost in the 1790s, I’m probably in the garden attempting to coax roses into blooming at the wrong time of year, reading entirely too many military memoirs, or walking with my dog in the park.
Thank you for visiting—and for giving my characters a home on your shelves and in your imagination.
